Martín Alejandro “N”, known as “Kamala”, was arrested in Mexico City by agents of the Attorney General's Office (FGR). He is accused of organized crime and enforced disappearance in the case of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa. The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that the capture took place in the Iztapalapa mayoralty, in collaboration with the Sedena, Semar, and the National Guard.
The arrest occurred in the Cerro de la Estrella neighborhood, on Tláhuac Avenue, where Martín Alejandro “N” was identified and the arrest warrant was executed. After informing him of the reason for his detention and reading him his rights, he was handed over to the corresponding Public Prosecutor's Office to define his legal situation concerning the accusations against him.
This operation is part of ongoing investigations into the disappearance of students from the “Raúl Isidro Burgos” Rural Normal School in 2014 in Guerrero. Authorities emphasized that they will continue to work in a coordinated manner to detain those who promote violence, combat impunity, and comply with the National Security Strategy.
So far, it has not been revealed whether Martín Alejandro “N” is linked to any criminal cell or if he had any role as a public servant in the tragic events in Iguala in 2014.
